My Story
Why I Love What I Do
I was born in Los Angeles, California, to two UCSB Gaucho sweethearts. For the first nine years of my life, California was home—where my earliest memories were made, where I first learned to love the ocean, and where I felt most myself. When my family moved to Austin, Texas, I carried Southern California in my heart and dreamed of one day finding my way back.
In 2022, that dream started to take shape. I didn’t know anyone in Santa Barbara but what I did have was an idea. I created an Instagram page to help SBCC and UCSB students connect, find housing, roommates, and friends. To my surprise, it exploded—quickly growing into a community of more than 2,500 college students who needed the same thing I did: a place to belong.
That moment showed me the power of social media—not just as a marketing tool, but as a way to bring people together and make life a little easier. By my sophomore year, I merged my project with Housing Helper, a startup created by a UCSB data science major. In the fall of 2024, I became the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, pouring myself into something bigger than me until its relocation to San Francisco in 2025.

At 19, I had the honor of working under acclaimed chef and Gourmand Bib award winner Ramon Velasquez. I managed the social media for eight of his restaurants, stretching from Santa Barbara to Ventura. The experience was were intense, inspiring, and transformative. I learned how much I loved telling stories for brands, building connections through creativity, and seeing people walk through the door because of something I created.
Today, I’m a freelance social media manager in Santa Barbara and I couldn’t love my job more. I get to help businesses grow, connect, and shine through digital storytelling and every project I take on is rooted in the same purpose that started it all: creating connection.
